Auto Insurance

According to the Lizard and the Lady on TV, auto insurance is a fairly simple, streamlined insurance product. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Yes, you pick your liability limits, deductibles, whether you want towing coverage and Rental Reimbursement. But, what those wonderful TV personalities don’t mention is the stuff that could potentially render you totally helpless and financially unstable. There is so much more to auto insurance that Hatzung Insurance would love to share with you, given the chance. Here are a few things to consider:

If you’re involved in an at fault accident that points the finger at you, do you want the insurance company to pay for the other parties injuries or do you want them to dive in to your pockets? If you want the insurance company to pay, then you should probably have a conversation with a Hatzung Insurance representative. We will work hard to make sure that your liability limits are sufficient enough to protect your current and future assets.

Have you ever considered that you probably have a better chance of being hit by an Underinsured or Uninsured Motorist than someone who is sufficiently insured to cover your injuries? Because the marketplace has trained the insurance consumer to look solely at their premium when they buy, isn’t it fair to assume that people buy low or are maybe not buying at all? Some of our agencies largest claims have been paid out of our clients Uninsured/Underinsured Motorists coverage. This is coverage that we discuss with you and that you buy to protect yourself.

If you’re involved in a serious auto accident, regardless of fault, you’re entitled to the Personal Injury Protection benefits on your Minnesota auto insurance policy. A prudent question at this point would be, “How does my health insurance stack up these days”? If you have a high deductible health insurance plan, you might want to consider more coverage in this area by “stacking” your PIP coverage or increasing the limits. It’s surprisingly inexpensive to do this and it could prevent you from having to pay a large deductible.

Do you need full coverage on a 10 year old vehicle? You could save roughly $400 annually if you decided to forego the physical damage on your auto insurance for this vehicle. On the other hand, maybe paying for the physical damage now could benefit you with a little down payment on a new vehicle when you get a claim check from your insurance carrier.

Some insurance carriers surcharge for towing claims. Maybe it would be a good idea to take towing off your policy and buy a AAA membership. The benefits are greater and you avoid possible surcharges down the line.

At Hatzung Insurance we have always worked hard to educate and protect our clients lifestyles and understand their needs. We’ve also aligned our agency with the most competitive insurance companies. Call, email, or stop in to see what we can do for you.
